Who We Are

The Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Supported Living Center is a non-profit organization established in 1978. The Council is made up of board members from the community who are concerned with the welfare of those served by the State Supported Living Center. The Council enters into a Memorandum of Understanding with the San Antonio State Supported Living Center each year and adheres to Health and Human Services Commission policies and procedures. Through the efforts of the Volunteer Services Council, foundations and individuals have made lasting contributions to the facility and to the individuals it serves.

Mission

The mission of the Volunteer Services Council of SA Living Center is to enhance the quality of life for the individuals with mental retardation who call the Living Center home. The Council supports this mission through funds, resources, public education and promoting volunteerism.
