San Antonio State School’s 5K Run/Walk: Saturday, September 8, 2007

 

The Volunteer Services Council will sponsor a 5KRun/Walk and children’s 100, 200 & 500 meter dash Saturday, September 8. We hope to encourage avid runners, leisure walkers and families with children to attend. We feel it’s important for encourage healthy lifestyles while benefiting those with mental retardation.

This year we chose IAAP to coordinate our run. Their past runs have been extremely organized and successful. They recently administered the Spurs 5K Run/Walk with Brent Barry, the Fiesta Flambeau Fandango and will be coordinating the San Antonio Marathon. Their website is http://www.iaapweb.com 

This event supports the Volunteer Services Council, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for 300 individuals with mental retardation served by the State School.

Sponsorship

• Run/Walk Team (up to 5 members)

• Special breakfast tacos after the run

• Live mention of your support during the event

After the event, sponsors will be given a report from the VSC to show how much was raised, how many attended and any news coverage we received. Your tax-deductible contribution can be submitted by check made out to the Volunteer Services Council of SASS. 

In order to print our brochures with your name on them, we will need your commitment by August 15.  Please feel free to call us for any questions.
